How to make

Please follow the next steps:

    Preheat the oven to 177°C (350°F) and grease a 9×13 inch glass pan.

    Mix the flour, salt, baking powder, soda, cinnamon, and other spices in a large bowl. Set aside.

    Whisk the oil, eggs, brown sugar, applesauce, vanilla extract, and molasses (if using) together in a medium bowl. Whisk wet and dry ingredients until combined. Add in the shredded apple.

    Spread batter into the prepared pan, then start baking for 50 minutes. Baking time varies, so keep an eye on yours. The cake is made when a toothpick inserted in the center comes clean.

    Remove the cake from the oven and set it on a wire rack. Allow cooling completely. After about 45 minutes, place it in the fridge to speed things up.

    In a large bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese with the mixer or blender on high speed until smooth and creamy.

    Add confectioners’ sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.

    Beat on low speed for half a minute, then switch to the highest speed and beat for 2 minutes.

    Add the extra of confectioners sugar to make the frosting a little thicker. Spread the frosting on the cooled cake. Refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving. It helps set the frosting and makes cutting easier. Decorate your cake with nuts, dried fruits or honey.
